Its hard to find words to write for this one. Its such a significant moment in the lives of these three people and I tear up everytime I think of it. Greyson and Quinn have always been such close and loving siblings and then when Opal was born the way she added to our life is immeasurable. It felt odd to think that there was another person out there who shared this same bond.
The three all know about each other and I can't tell you the amount of times Greyson has asked when they could all meet. I think being a boy and knowing you have a big brother is a pretty big deal! That day finally came and I don't think it could have gone better.
We told the kids that they were meeting someone important but we didn't say who (they guessed the president and the first lady) When Alex walked up and said hi they both just stood there until he said "I'm your brother" I watched Greysons lip quiver as he was totally shocked and over come with the moment. The happiness was instant.
They got to know each other over ice-cream and a walk down the canal to the park. We all loved hearing about Alex's hobbies, his girlfriend and his family. He has had such a happy life with his parents and siblings. His mom and dad sure raised an awesome man!
When it was time to say goodbye, seeing them all hug was such a joyful moment. The kids went to our family party and told everyone the news! I think Greyson must have said a million times during the day that it was one of the best days of his life and he can't believe he finally met his brother. Even if they don't see each other often and they didn't grow up alongside each other, they are all good happy people and they are family and there will always be that pretty awesome sibling bond between them.
